The Studio

A natural-light studio in south east London

High ceilings, tall windows and a room full of backdrops — an alternative to shooting at home, in a coffee shop, or outdoors.

Somewhere that doesn't feel like a studio

Most photography studios are white cycloramas — practical, but they give you nothing to work with. This space is the opposite: a period room in south east London with its own character, full of natural light, where a portrait can feel like it was taken somewhere real rather than against a blank wall.

It works particularly well for people who feel awkward being photographed. There’s no crew, no cavernous white box, and nobody watching — just a comfortable room with good light, which makes it far easier to relax and forget the camera is there.

Whether you’re drawn to its backdrops or want something more tailored to your brand, the space is flexible. Get in touch for a quote if you’d like to shoot here.

Natural light, all day

Floor-to-ceiling windows on more than one aspect, so the space stays bright without relying on artificial lighting. That matters more than people expect — natural light is far more forgiving, and it keeps a session feeling relaxed rather than staged.

High ceilings and room to work

Period proportions mean there's space to step back for full-length shots, move lighting around, and shoot from different distances without everything feeling cramped.

Several backdrops in one room

Pale walls, a deep green wall, exposed brick, panelled corners, bookshelves and a big open kitchen table. One session can produce genuinely different looks without moving location.

FAQs

Studio Questions

Where is the studio?+

The studio is in south east London, close to Greenwich. Full directions and parking details are sent once a session is booked.

Do I have to shoot in the studio?+

Not at all. Plenty of sessions happen on location — at your office, in your own home, or out across London in Mayfair, the City or Canary Wharf. The studio is simply an option when you want controlled light, privacy, or an alternative to shooting at home or in a coffee shop.

Is the studio suitable for team headshots?+

Yes for smaller teams, though for larger groups it's usually more practical for me to come to your workplace so nobody loses travel time. We can talk through which makes more sense for your numbers.

Can I bring several outfits?+

Yes, and it's encouraged. There's space to change and to hang what you bring. For a full branding shoot I usually suggest four or five outfits so we can build genuine variety across the gallery.

How do I book the studio?+

Get in touch with your dates and what you need the photographs for, and I'll come back with a quote. Studio use is included in branding and headshot sessions booked with me rather than charged separately.
